Dette er en single malt fra Yoichi destilleriet, Nikka's første destilleri bygget i 1934. Grundlæggeren Masataka Taketsuru valgte Yoichi i Hokkaido på grund af at de lokale forhold mindende om Skotland, hvor han lærte at lave whisky. Yoichi single malt har behagelige tørve noter og røg somstammer fra den traditionelle direkte kulfyrede destillation samt et martimt hint leveret af havbrisen under lagringen.
